Aphrodite Character Design

Early concepts, character development, and weapon design for Aphrodite from PermaDeath: A Video game Opera.

From Cerise Jacobs, the librettist:
"Aphrodite - The goddess of love is a cool customer, used to manipulating her lovers. Her one big weakness is Adonis, so smitten is she by him. But don't be mistaken - she's a god so she's powerful and can be devastating. She is more subtle and probably has a bunch of magic tricks up her sleeve. She's cast as a coloratura soprano which is a voice type that is very high and acrobatic."

Aphrodite's voluptuousness and sensuality are complimented by an outfit that incorporates natural imagery mimicking the transition from water to land, shells tapering off into sand and then glass. She can behold her own reflection in her mirror shards.
